Dublin City Council are planning to upgrade the River Road.  The upgrade will include the widening of the route to a constant standard width of 7.3 metres and allowing a 3 metre two way cycle track on the North side of the road. Also 2 metre footpaths on both sides of the road have been proposed.

This proposal has been presented at the January Central Area Meeting, Dublin City Council and it is now planned to bring this plan before the full City Council meeting, seeking a part 8 approval.  Dublin City Council will progress this to tendering in an effort to have all works completed by 2009.
